What a difference a sky makes!

“Blue Sky” painted late 2022, complete with a rather bodacious purple sky, later transformed into a less challenging, more liveable painting and sold by Fanuli. The client subsequently commissioned me to double the size of the painting with a second complimentary canvas, making the combined size my largest work to-date at 1200 x 3000mm.

Idris Murphy @ King Street Gallery

Mentor, teacher and magnificent artist Idris Murphy at his “Active surrender” exhibition, King Street Gallery William Street, June 2023. A moment where I cheekily said to him “Idris, this painting is ridiculous, just beautiful” – to which he graciously replied “Yes it is ridiculous, isn’t it!!” King Street Gallery

WAC Ewart Art Prize 2020

“Late Afternoon” , 760 x 760mm Highly Commended winner Painting Category. Judge’s comments: “A mysterious landscape with both subtlety and drama in an array of interesting marks. The colour is restrained and moody which matches the tonal base.” https://www.willoughbyarts.org.au

art in-situ

As an interior designer as well as an artist, it is always very satisfying to see my paintings in their new home. “Escarpment 4”, measuring 1100 x 1100mm encased in a white box frame, really sits well above the fireplace and balances the otherwise dominant black fire box.

Monet Mitchell, Fondation Louis Vuitton Paris

Early 2023, I was fortunate to be in Paris for 8 weeks and hit the ground running, catching the final day of Monet Mitchell at The Fondation Louis Vuitton in the Boir de Boulogne. The most extraordinary exhibition of two amazing artists, curated superbly to illustrate the rich similarities and contrasts in their respective ouvres. […]

Work in progress!

After seeing my work in Fanuli, Interior Designer Selena Mohr from Your Beautiful Home commissioned me to produce a large work 1200 x 1800mm for her client’s waterfront home in Sydney. From go to woh, it was such a thrill working with Selena and her client, all of whom are delighted with the resulting work. […]

New works at Fanuli

It is always a thrill to see my completed paintings depart the studio and resurface on the walls at Fanuli in Cremorne, Sydney. Curated by Jason Nash Woodland, they are superbly complimented by Fanuli’s beautiful range of Italian and locally manufactured contemporary furniture. I could not ask for a better platform to promote my work. […]

Vessels 2023

My submission into the Autumn 2023 group show at Headland Artists, Mosman, NSW. “Vessels” represented a looser, more illustrative drawing approach, applied directly on to raw belgian linen. Delighted to say, it sold on the first morning of the exhibition!! www.headlandartists.com

Name on the door!

Nothing like a smart new sign to prove that you belong to the fabulous Headland Artists collective, Read Place, Mosman NSW 2088. Open Studios take place twice a year and we hold a collective exhibition in summer and winter as well in the Landship Gallery. www.headlandartists.com
